Tim David produced a handy cameo with the bat after being called up for his first Big Bash League game in two years on Sunday.
The big-hitting all-rounder smashed 18 off 10 balls in the Perth Scorchers’ eight-run loss to the Hobart Hurricanes.
David, who was called up as a local replacement player just before Christmas, entered the game with his side under pressure with five wickets down and chasing 181 for victory.
The 23-year-old was quickly off the mark and then wowed the close to 30,000-strong Optus Stadium crowd with a powerful six off the bowling of Scott Boland.
But Boland had David caught with the next ball after he tried to find the boundary once more.
David and Joel Paris have again been named in the 13-man squad to take on the Melbourne Renegades at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong on Tuesday.
Sam Whiteman has also returned to the squad to replace Nick Hobson, who was named in the extended group for the ill Ashton Turner on Sunday.
Whiteman produced a brilliant unbeaten knock of 144 off just 135 balls for Fremantle in their win over Bayswater-Morley over the weekend.
The opener and gloveman is yet to play for the Scorchers this season.
