Joel Paris was back among the wickets after returning to Big Bash League action at Optus Stadium on Saturday night.
After taking the ball in the second over, Paris recovered from a tough opening to remove dangerous opener Sam Harper in the Perth Scorchers’ 11-run win over the Melbourne Renegades.
Paris also had another chance put down before closing out the game after he trusted to bowl the final over of the Renegades’ chase.
He finished with figures of 1-36 after coming into the side for the ill Matt Kelly.
“I think this is the first time in a couple of years that I’ve gone into this part of the season fit, which is always a nice feeling,” Paris told the West Australian.
“I’m hoping at some stage we (Kelly and I) get to bowl at either ends together, we’ve opened the bowling together for four or five years at Claremont-Nedlands and in Sheffield Shield cricket.”
The Scorchers take on the Adelaide Strikers this afternoon the Adelaide Oval.
They will wear indigenous shirts for the clash.
“Being unbiased, I think the Scorchers indigenous shirts have been the best the past few years and I can’t wait to wear them and get out there,” Paris said.
“It’s really important that we represent the land that we’re on and it’s great that the Swan River, the bridge, Optus Stadium and are all represented and the artwork is beautiful.”
