Peers gets Davis Cup call up ahead of Dubai semifinal
Matt Ebden will complete his clay court preparation for next week’s second Grand Slam of the year, Roland Garros, by playing in the Nice Open this week.
The Australian has drawn Spaniard Albert Montanes in the first round which is scheduled for a Monday start on Centre Court.
The pair have only met once before, in 2012 at the Portugal Open in Estoril, with the Spanish player triumphing 6-2 6-3.
Nice has drawn several of the world’s Top 50 players including Josh Isner, Ernests Gulbis and Gilles Simon. Should Ebden progress to the second round he will face Frenchman third seed Gael Monfils.
