Peers gets Davis Cup call up ahead of Dubai semifinal
Jason Behrendorff’s name will be etched on the honours board at the Home of Cricket after his brilliant five-wicket haul helped Australia to a 64-run win over host nation England at the World Cup.
Captain Aaron Finch threw the ball to Behrendorff to open the bowling and he repaid the trust in spades, producing figures of 5-44 in a memorable Lord’s debut.
The left-arm quick dismissed openers James Vince and Jonny Bairstow to set the tone for the Australians before helping clean up the tail.
It was was just Behrendorff’s second match of the tournament after making his One-Day International debut earlier this year.
