Emageo Athlete Casey Dellacqua has been announced as the top seed for the Hobart International.
Currently at number 29 in the world, Dellacqua leads 23 of the world’s top 60 ranked females who will compete.
Other big names include 36th placed Sloane Stephens from the USA.
Stephens pulled off a shock upset against Serena Williams to make the semi-finals of last year’s Australian Open.
Britain’s top placed female, Heather Watson, will also make the trip to Hobart.
“Hobart is the perfect way to ensure I’m match ready for the Australian Open,” said Dellacqua, who last month joined the Premier of Tasmania Will Hodgman and Tournament Director Mark Handley Hobart to officially launch the tournament at the Domain Tennis Centre.
“I always enjoy playing in Hobart and love playing for the local crowds. The Domain Tennis Centre is a beautiful place to compete, overlooking the Derwent River.
“Mark and his team put on a great event each year and make the playing group feel very welcome.”
Hobart will be the second tournament on Dellacqua’s 2015 schedule, following the Hopman Cup in Perth.
