Peers gets Davis Cup call up ahead of Dubai semifinal
All-rounder Nathan Coulter-Nile capped off a breakthrough season by winning the Laurie Sawle Medal as Western Australia’s player of the season.
Coulter-Nile snared a combined 42 wickets in Sheffield Shield and one-day ranks to beat out Mitchell Marsh and Sam Whiteman for the award. He collected 26 Shield wickets at 27.92 and was the second leading wicket taker in the Ryobi Cup with 16 victims at 23.18.
The 25-year-old also claimed the Players’ Choice Award and looks odds on to be in contention for the Ashes squad.
