It is the latest craze taking the social media world by storm, and Casey Dellacqua and Matt Ebden have been in on the action.
The “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge” involves dumping a bucket of ice water on ones head and challenging others to do the same.
It has spurred millions of dollars in donations for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neurone disease.
The ALS Association said on Monday that 2.4 million videos related to the ice bucket challenge have been shared on Facebook, and more than 28 million people have posted, commented or liked a post relating to the challenge.
Ebden took the challenge from fellow player Kevin Andreson and after his refreshing “shower”, promptly nominated his coach Mark Shanahan, rising Australian player Thanasi Kokkinakis and Todd Langman, coach of Kokkinakis, to do the same.
Dellacqua accepted her challenge from fellow Australian Sam Stosur.
