Jason Behrendorff recorded another powerful performance for the Perth Scorchers last night as they defeated Sydney Thunder by 30 runs.
The left-arm speedster took 3/26 from his four over spell, taking his season tally to ten wickets from five games at the incredible economy rate of under six runs per over.
After missing out on higher honours Behrendorff said he would just let his bowling do the talking, and that’s exactly what he did.
Behrendorff struck twice in his first spell, claiming dangerous opener Aiden Blizzard lbw for seven before claiming star all-rounder Jaques Kallis five balls later for the same score.
However his most important wicket came in the 14th over when he dismissed the dangerous Andre Russel for 40.
Russel was threatening to drag the Thunder back into the contest with a succession of big sixes before Behrendorff came back into the attack and got his man.

It’s the fifth time the 25 year-old has taken three or more wickets in his T20 career and he is on track to top last season’s tally of 15 wickets.
Behrendorff will next be in action for the Scorchers on Sunday afternoon against the Hobart Hurricanes at Blundstone Arena.
