Peers gets Davis Cup call up ahead of Dubai semifinal
Australian marathon runner Lisa Weightman has had to unfortunately withdraw from the London Marathon next month with an abductor injury.
The Commonwealth Games Bronze medallist had been experiencing discomfort in her pelvis region when she ran and while scans did not show any fracture, there was the risk of longer-term damage should she continue to run.
With the long term goal being next year’s London Olympics, the cautious approach of a few weeks rest had to be taken.
As expected Weightman is disappointed by the outcome but is looking forward to competing again later in the year, with her race plans to be confirmed over the coming weeks.
