Jason Behrendorff is primed to return for the Perth Scorchers’ sold out Boxing Day clash with the Brisbane Heat at the WACA.
Behrendorff, 25, has been sidelined for more than a month with a back injury will be a straight replacement for injured strike bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile.
Speaking after training yesterday, Behrendorff said his time in the nets over the past fortnight had convinced him his injury worries would not affect his form this season.
“I feel like I’m just about back to where I was,” he said.
He said the recovery plan set out for him would hopefully see him stay on the park through to the end of the Sheffield Shield season.
“Building back through the Big Bash is a great way to get myself up and ready for the rest of the summer, to get my body used to playing cricket again with only four overs at a time.”
