Weightman runs second fastest time of her career
Lisa Weightman has marked her return to racing by smashing the race record in today’s Melbourne Half Marathon.
Lining up on the start line for the first time in two over two years, due to injury and the birth of her first child, Weightman crossed the line in 71:02
Her time took 21 seconds off the previous course best in Melbourne and puts her well and truly on track for the Rio Olympics.
Weightman’s next step will be the Houston Marathon in January, where she will attempt to run an Olympic qualifier.
