Lisa Weightman will participate in the Mothers Day Classic in Melbourne this weekend as part of a Victorian Institute of Sport Ski Activ team.
In what will be her first “race” since her bronze medal at last year’s Commonwealth Games, the Mothers Day Classic will see Weightman take a slightly different approach to normal given she is still overcoming a bout of Osteitis Pubis.
“Sunday 8th May marks my first race since the Games. It will be a little different to what I expected as I’ll be walking with my big sister Jodi as part of the Ski Active VIS team,” Weightman said.
“My Osteitis Pubis has been dragging along for over 2 months now. The stress reaction in my pubic bone appears to be healed, so hopefully I am only a few weeks away from putting on my Adidas shoes and hitting the streets again”.
