Chloe Piparo, Nicole Bolton and Emma King have enjoyed another memorable day in the WNCL after a dominant win over South Australia at the WACA Ground.
Bolton was named player of the match after a huge performance with both bat and ball as the Western Australian women claimed an 102-run win which sent them back to the top of the WNCL ladder.
Coming in at four, the star left-hander anchored the WA innings of 9-259, smashing 94 from just 89 balls.
Bolton then took three key wickets in the South Australian chase, dismissing Tegan McPharlin (9), Amanda Wellington (32) and Samantha Betts (6) in quick succession to break the back of the visitors’ resistance.
In her 50th WNCL match, Piparo continued her strong season both with her astute captaincy and in setting a strong foundation at the top of the order.
Piparo made 42 runs in a new combination with Ashley Day.
Emma King then chipped in with a handy cameo at the end of the innings, adding eight runs off just two balls, including an impressive six.
King backed that up with the ball, strangling the South Australians with her economical spells before taking two late wickets to help finish off the victory.
WA takes on the South Australians again on Thursday.
