Defending champion Andy Murray has beaten Matt Ebden in three sets in the second round of the Sony Open in Miami.
Ebden started the match impressively, going up a break to lead 3-0. He then saved several break points during the opening set to close it out 6-3.
Murray, playing in his first competitive match since splitting with coach Ivan Lendl, continued to gain ascendancy as the match wore on. The sixth seed claimed both the second and deciding set in convincing fashion to round out a 3-6 6-0 6-1 comeback victory.
