Peers gets Davis Cup call up ahead of Dubai semifinal
This weekend Rhys Mainstone will swim in the 1500m at the Australian Swimming Championships held in Brisbane.
Mainstone is taking a short break from open water competition to focus on the shorter swimming format.
The 23-year-old will be back in open water competition next Saturday in the final race of the State New Zealand Ocean Swim Series on Auckland’s North Shore.
Mainstone will be hoping to claim the State NZ Ocean Swim title after victories in the fourth and fifth races in La Grande and Pilot Bay, respectively.
The 1500m heats commence 11.12am local time on Saturday.
The 1500m final is scheduled for Sunday and will be broadcast live on OneHD, with the swimming program starting at 7.30pm local time.
