Emageo Group are delighted to welcome reigning US Open and Wimbledon doubles finalist John Peers to our tennis stable.
At 27 years of age, some might consider John Peers to be a late bloomer on the ATP doubles circuit but it’s been a bloom that’s been more than worth the wait.
There’s never been any doubt about Peers’ talent and 2015 has more than proved he is up there with the world’s best, in a year where he has made back-to-back Grand Slam finals and reach a career high ranking of number 7 in the world.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Peers was introduced to tennis as a child with his mother and uncle both being professional players.
At the age of 18, Peers made the decision to develop his game via the US College system where he attended Middle Tennesee and Baylor University.
After a successful College career, Peers turned pro in 2011 and spent three years plying his trade on the ITF and Challenger circuit competing in singles and doubles.
However it was a decision to focus solely on doubles at the start of 2013 that proved a masterstroke.
Partnering with Britain’s Jamie Murray, the pair had immediate success and haven’t looked back.
They’ve won six titles on the ATP Tour and in 2015 made the final of Wimbledon and the US Open.
“I am extremely excited to have John join Team Emageo,” Emageo Group Managing Director Sam Maxwell said.
“He is an athlete who works extremely, extremely hard and the consistency of his results over the last 24 months have been outstanding, and can be attributed to his professionalism and hours on the practice court.
“A career high number 7 in the world, two Grand Slam finals and a likely start at the prestigious Tour Finals next month would cap a brilliant year.”
Peers played Beijing this week and next week will play the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 even in Shanghai.
Peers joins Casey Dellacqua, Matt Ebden and Olivia Rogowska as a Team Emageo tennis client.
