Andrew Harris has fallen just short of his maiden ATP Challenger Tour singles title after a terrific week at the Traralgon event.
Harris went down in the yesterday’s final 7-5 6-3 to his doubles partner in China, Marc Polmans.
It came after Harris showed great fight, battling through a number of rain suspensions and twice coming back from one set down during the tournament.
Harris won through to the final after a gutsy 4-6 7-6 7-6 win over Japan’s Tatsuma Ito in the semifinal, which was played over two days due to the rain.
It is the third Challenger singles final Harris has made in a career-best year after Busan and Chennai earlier in the season.
Harris now heads to South Australia for the Playford Tennis International.
