Barty’s stitch up
Casey Dellacqua has taken a cautious approach and withdrawn from her scheduled first round match against Victoria Azarenka at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia Tournament in Rome.
A minor right niggle is reason for the withdrawal, as Dellacqua seeks to manage her load with a big eight week tournament block ahead, starting with the French Open in a fortnight.
Dellacqua will still play doubles in Rome, teaming again with Yaroslava Shvedova.
Shvedova and Dellacqua last week won the coveted Madrid title, with the pair drawing Sabine Lisicki and Elena Vesnina in the first round in Rome.
