Partnering Yaroslava Shvedova, Casey Dellacqua has stormed into the quarterfinals of the women’s doubles at the French Open with a commanding 6-1 6-1 win over eighth seeds Caroline Garcia and Katarina Srebotnik.
Dellacqua and Shvedova, the tournament’s 12th seeds, won the title in Madrid last month and have reached the last 16 for the collective loss of just eight games in three matches.
In round one they dispatched Chan Chin-wei and Laura Davis 6-1 6-2, before taking out Alize Cornet and Magda Linette 6-2 6-1.
In their third round encounter against Garcia and Srebotnik, Dellacqua and Shvedova served at 77% first serves to set up a showdown with the thirteenth seeded Michaella Krajicek and Barbora Strycova in the first match scheduled on Court 1 later today.
