Michelle Cowan has revealed she is benefiting from mentoring from West Coast’s AFL coaching panel.
Cowan is eagerly awaiting the official start of the Eagles inaugural AFLW pre-season in a few days, but has been busy building relationships at the club.
Cowan, who is forwards coach in the AFLW set up, told SEN’s Time On program on Monday night that there was quite a lot of involvement with the men’s coaching team at Mineral Resources Park.
“I have some great contacts, I still stay in contact with Paul Roos and I guess Craig Jennings as well who was formerly there (at Melbourne Football Club) as a strategist,” Cowan said. “We keep in contact quite regularly.
“I had a coffee just recently with Jaymie Graham, who is the now back line coach for the men’s AFL team at West Coast.
“He’s been incredible with me, sending me things to listen to, things to read and he has been a great one to bounce off.
“Officially, I guess, a mentor for myself moving forward with this AFLW season and just somebody I certainly admire in the way he goes about his coaching and how he gets the best out of the players around him.”
