Nathan Coulter-Nile could make his debut for Australia after Cricket Australia’s National Selection Pan named a 12-player squad for the only T20I against West Indies at the Gabba next Wednesday.
“Nathan Coulter-Nile has shown very good form in all three formats throughout the summer,” said John Inverarity, Chairman of Selectors.
Retired star Mike Hussey yesterday hailed Coulter-Nile as a Test-quality paceman after bowling Western Australia to a remarkable comeback victory over Sheffield Shield leaders Queensland.
“He’s our most influential player at the moment,” the 79-Test batsman said.
“I couldn’t be more impressed with the way he’s gone about it.
“He’s definitely good enough to play for Australia.”
Full Australian T20 International squad:
George Bailey (Captain), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Ben Cutting, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Brad Haddin, Josh Hazlewood, Ben Laughlin, Clint McKay, Shaun Marsh, Ben Rohrer, Adam Voges.
