Peers gets Davis Cup call up ahead of Dubai semifinal
Alex Beck has claimed bronze in the 400 metres final at the Australian Athletics Championships held in Melbourne.
After running 47.49 in the qualifying heats, Beck qualified fastest for the final with a semi final heat time of 46.61 on Friday.
Steve Solomon, who ran in the London Olympics 400m final, proved too strong at the Lakeside Stadium, crossing the line in a very impressive 45.36 in tough race conditions. Craig Burns was second (46.23), with Beck rounding out the medal places by posting his fastest time of the meet (46.33) in the final.
