Kiara Bowers has been crowned Fremantle’s AFLW Best and Fairest winner in front of 250 guests at Crown Ballroom.
Bowes polled 115 votes from eight games as she led the Dockers into a preliminary final.
A player can receive a maximum of 20 votes for an outstanding performance. Bowers was the only player to receive 20 votes in a match for her 23-disposal, 16-tackle performance against the Western Bulldogs in round five.
Bowers was also named the Players’ Player, acknowledging the player who best displays the values set by the playing group at the beginning of the season.
Coach Trent Cooper said Bowers’ performance had been extraordinary.
“Statistically, she was the number one ranked player in the AFL by Champion Data ranking points, her tackling pressure lifted us across the line on a few occasions and her offensive work got better as the year went on,” Cooper said.
“She’s a complete midfielder that we’re very lucky to have and she’s a very deserving winner of the 2019 AFLW Fairest and Best.”
