Sarah Jamieson

Triple Olympian Sarah Jamieson is one of the finest middle-distance runners Australia has seen. Jamieson first represented her country at the junior world championships in 1994, but had to overcome a series of serious injuries and five surgeries on her legs to reach the highest level.

The Perth-born athlete retired in 2011 after representing her country at the Sydney, Athens and Beijing Olympics. Jamieson also won silver in the 1500m at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne – the same year she set a new mark for Australian women in her pet event.

Retiring in 2009, Jamieson is now a mother of four and respected athletics coach.
