Joel Paris

Joel Paris is one of Australia’s most exciting left-arm fast bowlers.

Paris was selected for Australia at just 23 after two stunning one-day domestic tournaments for WA. He made his One-Day International debut in 2016 in Brisbane, claiming Shikhar Dhawan as his first scalp.

Paris earlier represented Australia at the under-19 World Cup in 2012. He debuted for WA at one-day domestic level just six months later. But he really announced himself in the 2014-15 one-day tournament where he took 13 wickets at 12.92. He injured his quad in the final but was still a key part of the Western Warriors title.

Paris returned 12 months later and took 10 wickets in the 2015-16 tournament. That led to his Sheffield Shield debut for WA just a month later where he claimed six wickets against Victoria. He took 35 Shield wickets in just six matches in 2015-16 including a six and five-wicket haul. Paris was the quickest WA bowler to 40 Shield wickets from just seven matches.

Only injuries have stopped him from reaching greater heights so far but he’s not done yet.
