Olivia Rogowska will kick start season 2015 when she takes on rising star Seone Mendez in the first round of the Australian Open Wildcard Playoff at Melbourne Park.
Peaking at a career high #102 in the world earlier this year, Rogowska enjoyed her best season on tour claiming titles in Launceston and Sacramento, to go with a second round appearance at the Australian Open and her qualification for the main draws of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells and the Citi Open in Washington DC.
Mendez is the youngest player in the Playoff draw and a member of Australia’s Junior Fed Cup team.
The first round encounter is scheduled for the first match on Court 6 at 10am local time.
Rogowska is the highest ranked player in the draw, with the tournament’s winner guaranteed a wildcard to next month’s Australian Open.
