Peers gets Davis Cup call up ahead of Dubai semifinal
Irina Khromacheva has eased past Olivia Rogowska 6-2 6-2 in the first round of the Claro Open held in Bogota, Colombia.
Rogowska was initially scheduled to play Canadian Sharon Fichman in the opening round but she withdrew due to injury, allowing luck loser Khromacheva entry in to the main draw.
That late change in opponent appeared to disrupt Rogowska’ fluency, with the 22-year-old making several unforced errors and struggling to gain any momentum in the match.
The Australian will head to Alabama next for the Dothan Pro Classic on clay, starting April 14.
