Peers gets Davis Cup call up ahead of Dubai semifinal
Matt Ebden has gone down 6-2 6-4 6-4 to 8th seed Milos Raonic in the first round of Wimbledon.
Regarded by some as having the best serve in tennis, Raonic was regularly firing down serves at over 215km per hour, and served 30 aces for the match.
Despite Ebden only conceding 8 unforced errors for the whole match, Raonic’s aggression disallowed the Australian any momentum.
Ebden now turns his attention to doubles, where he and countryman Sam Groth have been drawn to play Bob and Mike Bryan, the number one team in the world. This match will likely be scheduled for Thursday.
