Peers gets Davis Cup call up ahead of Dubai semifinal
The men’s 4 x 400m Australian relay team has moved one step closer to clinching a lane in London after clocking 3:01.58 for second place in Daegu, Korea.
World Championships bronze medallist Ben Offereins received the baton from Steve Solomon who acted as the lead out man for the Australian team. Offereins handed over to Brendan Cole before Tristan Thomas brought the team home.
The all-important aggregate two-time performance of the team now improve to 6:03.14 (3:01.56 from the IAAF world championships last year and 3:01.58). The Australian team are expected to rise to to 10th overall in the standings from 17th, well within the top-16 country cut-off for qualification to the London Olympic Games.
