Olivia Rogowska’s fine run of form at the Launceston International has continued with victory against British player Naomi Broady in straight sets.
Rogowska came storming out of the blocks to claim a bagel first set win, 6-0.
In fact, the Australian was on course for a double bagel win, leading 4-0 in the second set before the Brit fought back to win five of the next six games to tie it up at 5-5.
However, Broady couldn’t sustain enough pressure, losing out to the impressive Australian 7-5.
Rogowska will play Japan’s No. 5 seed, Eri Hozumi, in the semi finals tomorrow.
Meanwhile, in the women’s doubles, Rogowska has paired with Australian Open doubles partner Monique Adamczak to win their doubles quarter final match against Julia Cohen and Aleksandrina Naydenova 7-5, 6-2. The No. 1 seeded Australian duo won their first round match 6-3 7-5 against Misa Eguchi and Tammi Patterson.
