We are pleased to announce the signing of one of the brightest young talents in Australian cricket, Jason Behrendorff.
Having recently signed a contract extension with the Western Warriors and Perth Scorchers, the 24 year old today joins fellow quick Nathan Coulter-Nile in the Emageo stable.
“Jason is an exceptional talent on the cricket field, but an equally impressive individual off it,” said Australian Cricketers’ Association Accredited Agent and Emageo Group Managing Director, Sam Maxwell.
“I am looking forward to working with Jason in exploring a number of opportunities, particularly in the Western Australian corporate market, as his profile develops,” Maxwell said.
The former ACT Comet and Tuggeranong speedster made his First Class debut in 2011 and has claimed 77 wickets in 20 First Class games at the impressive average of 25.5.
Last Shield season he finished second on the Shield wicket tally with 40 scalps at an average of 22.70, earning him a call up to the Australia A squad earlier this year to take on South Africa.
Behrendorff backed that up with 11 wickets at 16 in WA’s winning Matador Cup One Day campaign this season.
It is not just in the longer forms of the game where the brash left hander has excelled; he is fast becoming one of the best T20 bowlers in the game. In 20 matches in the short game format, Behrendorff has taken 26 wickets at an impressive average of 21.
Playing for his country might not be far off with former players Michael Hussey, Damien Fleming and Jimmy Maher all declaring him ready for national duties.
Off the field Behrendorff married wife Juvelle earlier this year and holds a Bachelor degree in Exercise and Sports Science.
