Olivia Rogowska has moved in to the Semi-finals of the Perth Tennis International being played at the State Tennis Centre.
Rogowska showed great mental toughness in her 6-4 6-2 win over Tammi Patterson, needing to come back out and serve for the match at 6-4, 5-2, and 40-30 up after a two and a half hour rain delay.
Rogowska was one point away from claiming the match when the heavens opened, forcing the players off the court. The rain had threatened throughout the second set before finally forcing a suspension in play at the worst possible time for Rogowska.
After the lengthy delay, Rogowska showed no signs of nerves upon resumption, taking her first match point by drawing an error out of Patterson.
Weather permitting, the semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Rogowska is first up on Court No. 1 at 12.00pm (WST).
