Casey Dellacqua’s most successful year of her career has continued with the Australian nominated for the WTA Most Improved Player Award.
Peaking at a career high #26 in the world in September, Dellacqua made the fourth round at the Australian Open, falling to Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard, before making the Indian Wells quarter finals. She then also enjoyed a run to the semi finals of the AEGON Classic in Birmingham, defeating fellow Australian Sam Stosur along the way.
At the US Open, Dellacqua was the last Australian standing, going all the way to the last 16 in her best-ever showing in New York.
Dellacqua’s nomination for the WTA Most Improved Player Award follows her nomination as a finalist for the 2015 Newcombe Medal.
