Nathan Coulter-Nile’s prominence has continued to rise after being named in the Australia’s 15-man squad for the ICC Champions Trophy.
The 25-year-old has already shown he can mix it with the best in the business after a stellar Big Bash League season for Perth Scorchers in which he took 10 wickets and played a man of the match innings off just six balls.
In the Ryobi Cup, Coulter-Nile was the second-highest wicket-taker in the 2012-2013 season, picking up 16 scalps at an average of 23 at less than five per over.
Australian Chairman of Selectors, John Inverarity has high hopes that Coulter-Nile can convert his domestic form on to the international stage.
“Nathan Coulter-Nile is an emerging cricketer as a fast-medium bowler and explosive lower-order batsman.
“He is also one of the finest fieldsmen in Australian cricket and the energy he brings to his game is impressive.
“While Nathan has played a T20 International for Australia, we are looking forward to seeing him take his very good domestic limited-overs form onto the world stage.”
