Peers gets Davis Cup call up ahead of Dubai semifinal
Australian batsman David Warner has tipped all-rounder Nathan Coulter-Nile to be a surprise packet at next month’s Champions Trophy.
Coulter-Nile joins Mitchell Marsh as the only new faces in Australia’s 15-man squad for the one-day tournament, which is seen as a crucial stepping stone in the lead-up to the Ashes.
It is the first time that 25-year-old Coulter-Nile has earned a call-up to the 50-over squad, being rewarded for a strong finish to the Ryobi Cup season.
“They’re two very young, exciting cricketers. Both have a lot of potential with the bat and the ball,” said Warner.
