Joel Paris is one of Australia’s most exciting left-arm fast bowlers and has already made his international debut.
After two stunning one-day domestic tournaments for WA in 2014-15 and 2015-16, Paris was called up to make his One-Day International debut for Australia against India at the age of just 23.
He debuted in January 2016 in Brisbane and claimed Shikhar Dhawan as his first international scalp. He played his second ODI on his home ground at the WACA.
He also represented Australia at the under-19 World Cup in 2012 in a team that was captained by fellow Emageo athlete Will Bosisto.
He debuted for WA at one-day domestic level just six months later claiming Shane Watson as his first domestic scalp.
But he really announced himself in the 2014-15 one-day tournament where he took 13 wickets at 12.92. He injured his quad in the final but was still a key part of the Western Warriors title. He returned 12 months later and claimed 10 wickets in the 2015-16 tournament.
That led to his Sheffield Shield debut for WA just a month later where he claimed six wickets against Victoria. He took 35 Shield wickets in just six matches in 2015-16 including a six and five-wicket haul.
Injuries curtailed his 2016-17 season but he remains a key part of the Warriors and Perth Scorchers squads and is still on the national radar.
